The original log Farmhouse was built in the late 1880s in the traditional Finnish style of square-cut logs. It was extensively renovated with two other additions in the late 1980s, with all the modern amenities you'd expect in a home today. Whether you're here for fishing, canoeing, snowmobiling, or hiking with the quiet of the north woods, we know you'll enjoy your stay. The log heart of the home has a full kitchen stocked with all the utensils, dishes, and cookware you need for up to 11. The kitchen seating area has a river-rock fireplace with electric fire and a 32-inch internet-only TV with Netflix and Hulu—no local stations. There is an island with seating and also a high top table with seating for eight guests. The living room has a full wall of windows for views of the forest and property. There's also a 50-inch internet-only TV with a Blu-ray player, several movies, board games, and kid's toys. There's also a large dining table that seats up to 10. The Farmhouse sleeps 11 in four bedrooms—one on the main floor. Each bedroom has a queen size bed and one bedroom also has a set of bunks. There are two full bathrooms: one upstairs, and one on the main floor. Washer and dryer with laundry soap provided. An open WiFi network covers the grounds. We strive for 5 stars, so please let us know right away if anything is amiss to rectify the situation as soon as possible. We want your stay with us to be memorable in the best way possible! GUEST ACCESS The Farmhouse is one of many buildings on the property that makes up the Brule River Barn Wedding and Event Center. Guests have access to the Farmhouse and its gardens, the parking area, and the outdoor smoking area. The parking area may be shared if there are guests in the Cottage at the same time. GUEST INTERACTION I live very close to the property, so I can typically make myself available if you need anything. You may see my husband or me working on the Barn or grounds from time to time. In the summer, I mow the lawn on Wednesdays, but I will try to remind you beforehand, it is a good day for an outing as it takes about 5-6 hours. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE We host weddings and other events from Memorial Day through mid-October. Rentals and events do not happen at the same time and no parties are allowed during your rental. Small but tall. This is a 780 sq ft 3 story cabin in the woods 1/2 mile from the Brule River. The first floor has a bedroom with a double bed, stackable washer and dryer in hall with a full bathroom (shower). The second floor is a combination kitchen living area, along with a 10 x 20 covered deck. The third floor is a loft with two single beds with glass panels allowing great views out the big western facing windows. In keeping with the small size and having as much livable space as possible, the stairs from the first floor to the second floor is from a lower walkway to the covered deck on the outside of the building. There is a sliding library ladder on the second floor to access the third floor loft. Fire pit and wood available for a relaxing evening. Enjoy coffe in the morning with many of nature’s friends.

Welcome to our lake home on Island Lake in Barnes, Wisconsin. Island Lake is approximately 60 acres and roughly 50 feet deep. The lake is large enough for skiing and tubing, but small enough that it doesn't have heavy boat traffic. A very gentle walk to the lake leads to a zero entry beach with sugar sand and crystal clear water. The cabin is very clean and cozy with all the amenities of home. It has 3 levels with a queen bed, single bed, and half-bath upstairs, a main floor queen bed and full bathroom, and a downstairs room with two twin beds, a sleeper sofa and a third full bathroom. There is an additional futon that extends into a sleep mattress and space for an air mattress. While the cabin sleeps 8 comfortably, there is certainly room for more, especially if there are kids and/or guests don’t mind staying in tighter quarters. The cabin includes a fully stocked kitchen, linens, bath towels and ceiling fans. Air conditioning was added in June of 2021. Our guests are set up with initial start up paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels & kleenex. Guests are asked to provide their own beach towels, additional paper products and disposable dining products (paper plates, cups, napkins, etc). A lakeside deck with a table and chairs awaits you for coffee, cocktails or a card game. There is a bon fire pit near the lake as well as an adjacent deck right near the water, a paddle boat, canoe, and three kayaks ready for your use, and wildlife galore. Recreational boating activities are permitted between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. so that everyone is able to enjoy the lake. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided. Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean. Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days. This cozy cabin is a great way to get some time in nature and spend time with the ones you love. Located 30 minutes outside Duluth at the end of a 5-mile dirt road, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere without having to drive forever to get here.
